Review of the comedy play Damaged Furniture by Howard Skora at Whitefire Theatre.

"What makes the play a big success is its blatant, over-the-top, outrageous comedy that will not quit. The acting from the five-member ensemble is nothing short of brilliant under Jim Fall's slick and insightful direction, showcasing Howard Skora's fluid dialogue. This engaging performance truly brings to life the themes of Damaged Furniture, making it a remarkable experience." Don Grigware - Broadway World

Recommendation for 'Damaged Furniture' at Whitefire Theatre.

This is a brilliant, laugh-out-loud comedy featuring gorgeously awful characters that you can't help but love. Every single actor is fantastic, but the writing by playwright Howard Skora truly shines. He has invented a kooky and ridiculous cast that brings the humor to life. The humor is loud, frank, and beautifully crafted by these impressive actors, showcasing their perfect timing and delicious characters. Bravo to director Jim Fall for giving the words the room they needed to be this good.

Actors Alex Skuby and Meg Collins in a scene from the play 'Damaged Furniture' at Whitefire Theatre.

Howard Skora and director Jim Fall are a tested team who previously collaborated on the 2015 production of "Miserable With an Ocean View," a sellout comedy that captivated audiences for five months at the Whitefire Theatre. Skora, who has a background in stand-up comedy, describes his play as addressing themes of "toxic masculinity... fathers and sons wanting to connect yet not being able to." His work often features serious themes wrapped in a fast-paced comic romp, much like the concept of damaged furniture which can hold deeper significance beneath its surface.
